Next week, we'll share findings from our annual Network Activity Report that surveys all of GFN's member food banks. Before we dive into the data, we want to share a special thanks to the food bankers — the people — who work day in and day out to meet the rising demand for food assistance around the world. Our collective work means that more people can access the food they need and less food is going to waste. We are nourishing people and the planet, together. #WeAreGFN

Last year was Earth's hottest year on record while hunger and emissions from food waste persisted globally.   According to FAO's State of Food Insecurity 2024 report, up to 757 million people faced hunger in 2023 – one out of 11 people in the world, and one out of every five in Africa.   Keep an eye out next Tuesday when we release our own findings from food banks in more than 50 countries and their response to increased need for food relief around the world.
