The COVID vaccines may be partly responsible for excess deaths worldwide that have continued over the past three years, according to a new study conducted by Dutch researchers. The study analyzed data from 47 Western nations, including the U.S., and discovered that excess mortality remained high despite the vaccine and that the cause may be related to medical problems caused by the vaccines. Remington, the nation’s oldest gun manufacturer, will close its factory in Llion, NY, and move to Georgia after 200 years of producing firearms in the Mohawk Valley. Remington CEO Ken D’Arcy cited the “legislative environment” of New York as a core reason for the plant’s closure in early March. The stock market rallied strongly Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Average jumping 1.43%, or 489 points, and the S&P 500 gaining 1.9%, its best day since April. The Nasdaq also climbed 2.37%. Behind the widespread rally was news that inflation slowed last month, leading investors to hope the Federal Reserve will stop raising interest rates. The Supreme Court has adopted its first formal code of ethics, essentially the same code that applies to other federal judges but with special provisions regarding the use of Court staff and accepting gifts from donors. The new code is a response to pressure from Democrats over gifts accepted by Justice Clarence Thomas and others. Israel agreed to pause its assault against Hamas for four hours on some days to allow humanitarian aid to enter northern Gaza, the first formalized pause in the war since Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7. The Israeli and U.S. governments hope the pauses will help facilitate negotiations over the fate of over 200 hostages still held by Hamas.
