The T.J. Reddick Bar Association, the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association, and the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association received the 2024 Best Program Award for their “Empowered Advocacy: Advancing Litigation Excellence Symposium.” The symposium featured over 50 speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops aimed at addressing contemporary challenges and advancing excellence in litigation among Black attorneys. Evoking the image of an iconic horror film, 11th Circuit Chief Judge Nushin Sayfie warned the Board of Governors at its meeting Friday in Coral Gables about civil justice reforms coming to a court near you in January 2025. This week, the BOG is in Coral Gables for its first meeting of the year! ⚖️✨ President Roland Sanchez-Medina, Jr. kicked off his very first BOG meeting with a few special speakers, including Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who presented him with an inscribed gavel, followed by 11th Circuit Chief Judge Nushin Sayfie, who welcomed everyone and gave an inside look at the administrative side of the 11th Judicial Circuit, and Miami-Dade County Clerk Juan Fernandez-Barquin. We have a packed agenda today, and the BOG is getting down to business!! 💪

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 The Florida Supreme Court has approved the Florida Board of Bar Examiners (FBBE) recommendation to implement the NextGen Bar Exam, which will be administered by the FBBE for the first time in July 2028.
