We are here in Orlando for the Voluntary Bar Leadership Conference (or #VBLC2024 - IYKYK😉), making a splash with all of these engaged voluntary bar leaders making a difference around the state! This morning, we got to hear from our president, Roland Sanchez-Medina, and president-elect, Sia Baker-Barnes, at a general session where they took questions about work-life balance, life on the Board of Governors, and shared their experiences as a part of Florida's Voluntary Bars! #MadeASplash 🌊☀️😎✨

Florida Conference of DCA Judges chair Judge Mark Klingensmith issued a referral letter to Florida Bar rules committees regarding false information created by generative AI programs through the lens of Federal Rule 11, which calls for tough sanctions for not being truthful to a court. The letter noted that “several courts, particularly in the federal system, are considering or already require the filing of a certificate attesting either 1) that no portion of any filing has been drafted by generative AI (such as Chat GPT, Harvey AI, or Google Bard); or 2) that any language or content drafted with the assistance of a generative AI platform on the basis of natural language prompts has been checked for accuracy by a human being using print reporters or traditional legal databases.” https://lnkd.in/enCaTgyR

Among the honorees were 12th Circuit Judge Stephen M. Walker, BOG member Lorna Brown-Burton, health and wellness advocate Narinah P. Jean-Baptiste, and many more.
