USA Basketball has named Glossier as its first beauty brand partner for the Women’s National Team.      Hot off the press 🗞️ Check out this week’s round of social stuff you should know, according to social people who know their stuff. 📱 💭 TikTok will enable businesses to create their own virtual character.   This new "Symphony" platform lets brands use virtual influencers for 24/7 product sales via TikTok live streams. There are two avatar options: Stock Avatars (pre-built and licensed) and Custom Avatars (created by users) 👜 The Real Real x Canal Street Pop-Up The RealReal, the largest online marketplace for authenticated resale luxury goods, installed fake handbags at 301 Canal Street to highlight the difficulty of identifying counterfeits. Visitors can scan a QR code to learn more and enter a raffle for genuine bags by turning in counterfeits on specific dates. The installation will be up through early September, coinciding with peak tourism and counterfeit buying season. Additionally, The RealReal launched a special collection featuring Canal Street favorites on their website. 🛒 Gen Z and Millennials embrace TikTok Shop and other social shopping features. Platforms are making it easier than ever to make purchases on social. Think of every time you’ve opened a social plaftorm and you’ve been served ads immediately on how to shop items you’ve been eyeing! 1 year after launching, TikTok shop is now the ninth largest beauty and wellness e-commerce retailer in the US, and second in the UK.
