Battling blazes and breaking barriers, meet Western Colorado Conservation Corps' all-women wildland firefighting crew. 🔥💪 In partnership with the Bureau of Land Management and USDA Forest Service, Western Colorado Conservation Corps' Women’s Fire Crew is reducing the risk of wildfire while gaining valuable trainings and certificates. Once the #Corpsmembers complete the 10-month program, they're equipped to advance their careers with federal agencies in wildland firefighting and natural resource management. 💬 “I feel like I'm actually making a difference out here and doing something meaningful, which is like so, so awesome." -Assistant Crew Leader Eva Heller Wildland firefighting is a male-dominated field, but Corps are aiming to change that. The Sagawa Fund is designed to offer support to young adults facing conditions that may prevent them from serving or completing their term of service.
