Dr. Patel brings extensive experience and a collaborative approach to patient care, providing our cardiac program with fresh perspective. Her dedication to putting patients first, combined with compassion and integrity, lies at the heart of her care philosophy. This commitment has earned her top ratings from patients and recognition as one of Cincinnati Magazine's Top Doctors, including a feature on the 2019 cover. Dr. Patel will begin seeing patients at Atrium Medical Center through our partnership with Premier Health Partners, ensuring expanded access to top-notch quality care for our community!

    Congratulations to Ankit Bhatia, MD, FACC and his team for being first in the Midwest (and second in America!!) to test a new medication therapy to treat obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in Phase II of a clinical trial. ❤️ Dr. Bhatia explains the medication in the CIRRUS-HCM trial would relax stiffening heart muscle, unlike most current treatments that try to shrink or remove obstructions caused by HCM through surgery or catheter-based procedures. Dr. Bhatia directs our Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center of Excellence alongside Dr. Wojciech Mazur. HCM is a very common and is usually inherited. It causes a thickening of the heart muscle that can limit blood flow. HCM can eventually lead to heart failure and rhythm disorders like AFib when it isn't treated. Our cardiovascular teams never stop looking for ways to advance heart care. It's one of the reasons we opened the region's first dedicated HCM center! Many thanks to Dr. Bhatia and his team for continuing this important research with Edgewise Therapeutics.
