We are the Children's Advocacy Center for Houston/Harris County (Texas) - USA
About us
The Children's Assessment Center (The CAC Houston) provides a safe haven to sexually abused children and their families; a place where they can receive the kind of care and treatment they so richly deserve. Our goal is to promote the complete healing of child victims of sexual abuse and their families. We are the Children's Advocacy Center for Houston/Harris County and we employ an extraordinarily effective multidisciplinary team approach in the prevention, assessment, investigation, referral for prosecution and treatment of child sexual abuse. Our mission is to provide a professional, compassionate and coordinated approach to the treatment of sexually abused children and their families, and to serve as an advocate for all children in our community. The CAC Houston is an accredited member of the National Children's Alliance, part of a national movement to create child-friendly intervention systems for sexually abused children, and a member of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas. We are also one of the largest child sexual abuse advocacy centers of its kind in the nation. As a collaborative public/private partnership of Harris County Commissioners Court and The Children’s Assessment Center Foundation, The CAC Houston represents a true partnership of the public and private sectors joining to provide the most effective service delivery to children and families.

Thank you to our friends at Spindletop Community Impact Partners for connecting us with their Connections Group: Kosmos Energy. The Kosmos Energy team painted an expansion of our graduation wall and helped us organize our Rainbow Room. The time and talent shared with us helped us create a beautiful mural – a space for our clients to continue making a lasting mark on our building, spreading hope and healing to everyone who sees it. #HoustonVolunteers #HouVolunteers #SpindletopHouston #KeepingChildrenSafe #ServingHarrisCounty #ProtectHealPrevent

We are still celebrating our successful Spirit of Spring Gala we hosted at The Houstonian Hotel on April 12th. We want to thank our incredible gala chairs, Buckley Morlot and Kim Pinyopusarerk, for their hard work and dedication in making the gala a success. We are grateful to Jenna Quinn for her bravery in sharing her child survivor story, spreading a message of hope through healing, and raising awareness about the problem of child sexual abuse. We could not continue to serve children and families without the generous support of our underwriter, EOG Resources, our event sponsors, and attendees. Thank you again to all who joined and became a part of the solution to end child sexual abuse. #SpiritofSpring #SpiritofSpringGala #HouGives #HouVolunteers #ProtectHealPrevent #KeepingChildrenSafe #ChildSafetyMatters #HopeThroughHealing #BetterTogether #ServingHarrisCounty

Thank you Spindletop Community Impact Partners for organizing such an impactful volunteer event. The ConocoPhillips Connections Group assembled almost 3,000 self-care bags for children and adults that visit The CAC. We are grateful for their donation and the time they committed to building the self-care packages that support our clients and their families throughout their healing journey. #ConocoPhillips #HoustonVolunteers #HouVolunteers #SpindletopHouston #KeepingChildrenSafe #ServingHarrisCounty #ProtectHealPrevent

At The CAC, we have a staff of compassionate professionals who walk alongside children in their healing journey, provide education and prevention trainings to the community, advocate for our clients and their families, and support our collaborative approach to healing services – a team passionate about the work they do and the positive impact they make on our community. For April, we filled our yard with 239 pinwheels to represent the child survivors who will receive mental health services at The CAC this month. These mental health services are a key component of the healing services we provide to each child who walks through our doors. 💙 We are working to create a world where every child thrives. #ChildAbusePreventionMonth #BreakingtheCycle #KeepingChildrenSafe #MentalHealthMatters #ProtectHealPrevent #ServingHarrisCounty
