Providing behavioral health, education, and child welfare services to children, youth, and families in Ohio.

About us

The Buckeye Ranch is a private, nonprofit organization with a comprehensive array of mental health treatment options for children, young adults, and families. The Buckeye Ranch is committed to providing high-quality care utilizing the most up-to-date, scientific knowledge to address the challenges faced by the children, young adults, and families we serve. We actively seek the most current research-based treatment approaches in our relentless commitment to providing the best possible care to children, young adults, and families. The Buckeye Ranch also takes a strengths-based approach with every child, young adult, and family. We believe that these strengths can be accessed to help families reach their full potential because families are fundamental in the lives of children and, therefore, central to the treatment we provide. Our families are struggling to overcome serious issues including abuse, neglect, mental illness, suicidal tendencies, addictions, and other life debilitating concerns. Because of this, The Buckeye Ranch is much more than a place. It’s a comprehensive network of skilled professionals, working as a team to provide children and their families with the treatment, guidance and support they need to raise hope and move on to a better place. The Buckeye Ranch is currently serving more than 2,500 children and families from Franklin and other counties every day, at six (6) different locations throughout Ohio. -

July is #BIPOCMental HealthAwarenessMonth, founded in 2008 by the late Bebe Moore Campbell, this month shines a light on the unique mental health challenges faced by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.    BIPOC individuals face a broad spectrum of social injustices - all of which are understood to have profound impacts on mental health. Intergenerational experiences of discrimination, oppression, social injustice and systemic racism create conditions for both collective and individual traumas that contribute to poor mental health and can have lasting physical effects.    As a leading provider of mental health care for youth and families, The Buckeye Ranch understands the barriers of inequitable treatment for marginalized communities present in the healthcare landscape.    This month and every month, we stand with BIPOC communities and commit ourselves to better serving children, youth and families by embedding equity into the continuous process of improving our services.    💚 To learn more about the services we offer, visit: https://lnkd.in/ewNXE8kV    💚 To learn more about our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion visit:  bit.ly/DEI-Declaration-TBR

July is Disability Pride Month! Disability Pride honors the inherent value and inalienable rights of people with disabilities, while celebrating their achievements and honoring their lived experiences.    Disability Pride month marks the 1990 enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a landmark U.S. rights law that extended civil rights protections to persons with disabilities.    In our mission to restore hope and provide healing to youth and families, The Buckeye Ranch centers accessibility and inclusivity through programming to meet children and families needing help wherever they are. Join us in celebrating #DisabilityPrideMonth

Providing gender-affirming foster homes for LGBTQIA+ is critical to ensuring their well-being and ability to thrive. We are lucky to have foster parents like Carrie and Zach, who have created a supportive, affirming home for LGBTQIA+ youth. Proud allies, Carrie and Zach create a safe space for all youth in their home. They recently welcomed a transgender teen – an experience that they embraced with open arms.     “The reality is, LGBTQIA+ children need the same things as any other child in foster care - parents who are patient, who listen to them and who love them for who they are.”     We hope that you will read more about Carrie and Zach’s insights to creating an affirming dynamic with LGBTQIA+ youth and how The Buckeye Ranch’s Foster Care team supported them in that journey here: https://lnkd.in/eqTXMeuh
