Children of all faiths deserve to feel safe and secure in their learning spaces. To push us closer to this reality, we’re granting Jewish Federations of North America over $9 million to distribute to local Jewish institutions across 30 states. These funds will address the urgency of rising security costs impacting Jewish early childhood programs as well as facilitate support of other faith communities’ security needs. We are committed to improving interfaith relations and enhancing safety for all people confronting hatred. Learn More: https://lnkd.in/e4-_Znfv

Each year, the federal government grants millions of dollars towards food and nutrition, but many nonprofits don’t have the time or capacity to navigate the complex application process. We joined forces with the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate and other funders across the state to launch a collaborative fund to address that. The Food Security Access Fund is a cross-sector initiative to help nonprofits build capacity and secure more public grants to strengthen the New Jersey food system and address food insecurity. https://lnkd.in/e7U9sF83

Nearly 1 in 4 undergraduate students face food insecurity. We’re excited to partner with the NJ Community Colleges (NJCCC) to help more eligible students access programs like SNAP to meet their basic needs. “New Jersey’s community colleges play an essential role in expanding educational and economic opportunity across our state. However, too many students are in need of assistance in meeting their basic needs, making it harder for them to focus on their studies and complete their degrees and credentials” - Aaron Fichtner, President of NJCCC Through support from The Tepper Foundation, NJCCC’s initiative will leverage BDT’s benefits outreach expertise to create sustainable solutions to address food, healthcare, and other financial challenges that community college students face.
