We’re proud to announce that we’ve won first and third place in the 2023 SFS Value Engineering Award competition, a group-wide initiative that promotes innovation and improvement across all SFS Group divisions. Representing the SFS Medical Division, Tegra Medical entered two projects in the competition. Our project teams partnered with two leading medical device OEM clients, whose products we manufacture. Our winning teams realized automation and process optimization improvements for a vascular closure device, earning first place, and for a meniscal repair device, earning third place. Both teams achieved major improvements in efficiency, sustainability, cost reduction and production output by automating processes, streamlining logistics, and insourcing manufacturing to eliminate reliance on third parties. Across all SFS divisions, 30 projects were entered into the first round of competition. Read more at https://bit.ly/3W5lD5n. Tegra Medical recognizes Juneteenth, a day of profound significance for our nation. On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed of their freedom—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. June 19, or Juneteenth, as the day came to be known, has been celebrated by African Americans for nearly 160 years. In 2021, Juneteenth was declared a US federal holiday, ensuring the legacy of this day is passed on to American generations to come. #CelebrateFreedom #Juneteenth

In June we focus on cataracts, a common eye condition and a leading cause of blindness worldwide. Cataracts are a cloudy area in the lens of the eye that can affect vision. In the US alone, more than half of all Americans over 80 either have cataracts or have had surgery to remove them. As our population ages, cataracts are likely to become even more prevalent. Thankfully, 95% of cataract surgeries are successful for improving vision, according to the American Association of Ophthalmology. Tegra Medical is proud to make medical devices used in cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries.
