Why "Search" When We RESEARCH.
About us
Taylor Research Group is a litigation and environmental research company with extensive experience in providing historical, investigative, and analytical research services and support to environmental, legal, and business clients. Our professional research services furnish businesses and law firms with the assistance necessary to effectively negotiate the time-sensitive nature of litigation, to identify past and present liabilities, and to better understand their corporate histories. We are practiced and professional researchers. Our experience includes researching complex litigation matters involving toxic torts, CERCLA, RCRA, site remediation, federal and state cost recovery, potentially responsible parties (PRPs), the Clean Air and Water Acts and most other environmental and natural resource litigation issues. Additionally, we are skilled in researching business litigation matters involving mergers and acquisitions (M&A), product liability, asbestos, intellectual property and copyright. While litigation research is our specialty, Taylor Research Group regularly completes photographic and moving image research for museum projects, documentaries and other historical research projects.

Taylor Research Group reposted this
Like many other sports fans, I’m heavily invested in the #nbafinals so I thought I would share a fun, recent research experience. Taylor Research Group president John Taylor received a research inquiry from a friend whose great uncle participated in the first #NBA game played between the New York Knickerbockers and the Toronto Huskies in November 1946. She was eager to know if any footage from the game existed in the hopes that she could present it to her Dad for Father’s Day. Knowing my past academic research (I wrote a doctoral dissertation on college sports and taught sports history courses at Carnegie Mellon University), Mr. Taylor asked if I could assist. I had little luck identifying promising archival collections through a review of the usual databases and finding aids. However, I recalled the short newsreel clips that I incorporated in my lectures at Carnegie Mellon. You may have seen these before, they were the highlight reels of noteworthy events shown in movie theaters prior to feature films. Sure enough, I discovered a fascinating, 54-second newsreel clip of the contest that included everything from the opening tip, intricate offensive play design, a steal and ensuing fast break, and even closeups of players on the bench. As I reflected on the experience, I couldn’t help but notice how remarkably similar my process was to TRG’s standard litigation research efforts. I reviewed background material to gain context and avoid duplicative research. I identified promising archival collections at the local, state, and federal levels. I then let my experience and passion for historical research guide me to the source. The latter is what impresses me most about the TRG team. Yes, we are all trained and experienced researchers and historians. However, I believe our continued success is largely due to our passion and enthusiasm for historical research. It is something that can’t be taught and often motivates us to pursue documents in places others may overlook! #TRGFindsTheFacts New York Knicks Toronto Raptors Basketball Club Inc. TRG was on the road last week visiting the National Archives in Atlanta! The weather was hot, but the archives kept us cool. #TRGinTheField

80 years ago today, Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of German occupied Normandy. The D-Day assault was the largest airborne operation attempted to that point, and remains the largest seaborne operation in history. Today we reflect upon and honor the bravery of these soldiers, sailors, and airmen. Images via National Archives and Records Administration. #DDay #Normandy #MilitaryHistory #WWII
