CW/TW: This video contains sensitive topics related to mental health.   A survey commissioned by Tampa Bay Thrives in 2022 found that in Tampa Bay, 7 in 10 residents experienced at least one poor mental health day in a one-month period. Ten percent of respondents reported missing work, corresponding to 393,400 missed workdays a month and approximately 4.72 million missed workdays per year across the region.   This month is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, which marks the beginning of our journey of peeling back the mask to show that you are not alone. Most everyone you meet has fought a battle or is facing something they may not feel comfortable discussing for fear of judgment. “If you know, you know” (IYKYK), builds upon the social media hashtag that speaks to those that have shared or lived experience. As a member of our cohort, they were able to achieve a Gold Designation. 🌟 JWB spearheads the Children’s Mental Health Initiative, emphasizing early detection, intervention, and treatment for mental health conditions among children and families. This external focus has catalyzed a shift towards a holistic approach to well-being within JWB's culture, reflecting a concerted effort in this direction over the last two years.
