OESC (Oneida ESC Group) of companies’ SRS (Sustainment and Restoration Services) is pleased to welcome Genevieve Vander Velden as our most recent Project Geologist. Genevieve began her career working for a water resources non-profit organization in Northeast Wisconsin. She later joined Arcadis in 2016 and worked out of the Milwaukee, Nashville, and Raleigh offices where she served as a field lead for site investigations and remediation projects all over the country, until transitioning to an Assistant Project Manager role. Immediately upon joining the environmental consulting industry Genevieve was involved with the emerging contaminant, PFAS, and served as a Field Lead and Project Health and Safety Officer for a large-scale PFAS site investigation in the Midwest. After working at the site for 4 years, she became intimately familiar with PFAS sampling methods and data collection and was able to apply that working knowledge to managing field work, analyzing data, and writing reports. Another highlight of her remediation experience includes assisting in the management of a “pump and treat” recirculation system to address hexavalent chromium in groundwater. Genevieve monitored the potentiometric surface in relation to the ever-changing system operations and the adjacent Colorado River. The monitoring was used to make operational decisions and track treatment and movement of the Cr6 plume. In her free time Genevieve enjoys getting out in her camper van, golfing, and hiking! She is very excited to be joining SRS and look forward to getting to know the team! Join us in welcoming Genevieve!
