Thank you, Eric...great post. Medicare will continue to pay disproportionately higher rates to hospital-owned ASC's which will blunt the effect of shrinking the inpatient only list. They have historically used price controls to direct patients to the politically more powerful hospitals.

This is the exact way I thought about health insurance before I entered into this industry. The general public has no idea how to begin to battle this mindset.
