We are excited to announce that the Research-to-Impact Practices are available now! https://lnkd.in/gXNqSuPi Schools across America struggle to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities — especially students from historically underserved backgrounds. Over three years, educators, researchers, and content experts developed evidence-based practices to improve learning experiences, environments, and outcomes for Black and Latinx students with disabilities experiencing poverty. The practices are organized into five collections that summarize relevant research and provide step-by-step instructions, case studies from schools in the network, and templates and implementation tools for educators to use in their classrooms. -Turning the Page to Secondary Literacy: Tested practices for schools to identify gaps and implement interventions for secondary readers  -Opening Doors to Collaboration: Interdisciplinary practices for building collaboration between general and special education teams -Navigating Data for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support: Equity-based practices for using data at the district, school, and classroom levels to accelerate student supports -Igniting Postsecondary Aspirations: Proven school-based practices to empower students to transition into meaningful college, career, and community postsecondary pathways -Anchoring Emotions: One school’s skill-based practices for supporting students with emotional-based disabilities We are grateful for the collaboration and partnership of the NIC. We are so grateful our CEO, Cady Ching, could speak in support of charter schools alongside incredible leaders like Naomi DeVeaux, Azella Humetewa, Raymond J. Ankrum, Sr. Ed.D., and Angela Lang on a panel expertly facilitated by Ronald Rice from National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and Miriam Raccah from Black Latinx Asian Charter Collaborative.

We’re excited to share the first set of Research-to-Impact Practices developed by the pilot Networked Improvement Community for Students with Disabilities with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Over the past three years, we united behind one shared goal: to improve learning experiences, environments, and outcomes for Black and Latinx students with disabilities experiencing poverty. In partnership with leading researchers and content experts, 10 school networks demonstrated that these practices can produce positive outcomes for students furthest from opportunity. The Practices include step-by-step instruction, templates, and case studies that give educators the tools to use these strategies in their schools. Five resources are available now (and the full suite of materials will be published this spring): -Implementing Routine Data Cycles to Rapidly Address Student Needs -Co-Planning for Differentiated Instruction -Guiding Literacy Interventions Through Tiered Assessment -Repeated Reading: Building Oral Reading Fluency in Secondary Readers -Case Study: How Quarterly Professional Development Cycles Helped a Network Maximize Data-Driven Co-Planning for Co-Teachers at Green Dot Public Schools We are grateful for the collaboration and partnership of the NIC.
