  • During the spring and summer, SEE staff members spot wildlife while out doing fieldwork. At SEE, we take measures to respect the wildlife and the environment we work in. As a general reminder, if a fawn is spotted it is best to leave them in their hiding spot where they are safe, the mother will come back shortly.

  • Do you know what happens when fertilizer washes off of your lawn? Fertilizers can runoff your lawn and end up in our waterways. As Jeff points out in the photo above, the extra nutrients from fertilizer runoff can cause algae blooms, impeding other aquatic life. One of the ways stormwater experts recommend taking care of your waterways is by being mindful of when and how much you fertilize. Read more about how to save your waterways while saving money in this BASWG article: https://lnkd.in/exP3mbZY Fertilizing calendar credit: Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District.

  • Congratulations and good luck to our intern Brennan! In May, Brennan graduated from the UMaine Civil and Environmental Engineering program. He recently completed his FE and is starting a position with Wright-Pierce in their Portsmouth, NH office Civil Engineering Department. He looks forward to helping clients with permitting and using software such as Civil3D and Bluebeam. His career interests are in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling. At SEE Brennan was a great help in the office and the field. Here is what he had to say about his time with SEE "Working as an intern at SEE taught me a good work ethic, how to work independently, and most importantly how and when to ask questions when I’m stuck. It is an experience I would choose to have again if I had to do it over. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to work with this wonderful crew!"
