    When devastating wildfires moved through the Hawaiian island of Maui last summer, people sprung into action. More than $65 million has since been raised on GoFundMe and Classy to directly help the communities affected by the Maui wildfires. Today, on the tragedy’s one-year anniversary, we reflect upon the generosity and compassion of the global community. Donors answered the call when nonprofits, businesses, families, and individuals alike swiftly created relief fundraisers immediately following the fire. GoFundMe.org's Wildfire Relief Fund alone has been able to deliver more than 2,100 grants to people personally impacted by the Maui fires. We thank you for using our platforms to support one another, help rebuild communities, and drive great change in the world.     Corporate giving is a small yet growing piece of the pie, per Giving USA Foundation’s latest report. In fact, the five-year growth rate for corporate giving (14.3%) is more than twice the total giving rate over the same period (5.3%). If you're not already, it's definitely time to build stronger and more successful corporate relationships. Here are four things to keep in mind: 1️⃣ Go beyond checkbook philanthropy. Corporate social responsibility is more than just writing a check. To truly impact, ask for diverse support beyond financial contributions. 2️⃣ Compare audiences. Find corporate partners whose audiences align with your mission. Match the exposure your nonprofit offers with potential partners for maximum impact. 3️⃣ Know your contacts and decision-makers. Streamline your partnership process by identifying key contacts and assigning a dedicated team member to nurture these relationships. 4️⃣ Mobilize employees for fundraising and volunteering. Leverage the entire staff of your corporate partner. Encourage employee involvement in events and fundraising to create a broader impact and build lasting advocacy.

They raised more than double their $500k goal!
