Stephanie Postol, Chief Nursing Officer at St. Luke's Hospital, recently graduated from the Rural Health Association's "Rural Hospital CNO Certification Program." Alex Bell, St. Luke's CEO Interim, said, "We are proud of Stephanie's hard work and dedication at St. Luke's. Her leadership at the hospital is exemplary and is one reason St. Luke's is thriving in an environment where so many hospitals are struggling." One in three rural hospitals is "at risk" of closing. According to Alan Morgan, CEO of the National Rural Health Association, "Leadership is the biggest predictor of rural hospital success." The obstacles healthcare providers and patients face in rural areas like Polk County are tremendously different than in urban areas, and we understand the importance of Stephanie's continuing education in addressing these challenges. Mr. Bell added, "We as a community are incredibly fortunate to have a nurse leader like Stephanie, who is making a tremendous impact on healthcare in Polk County. I am proud of her accomplishment and am pleased to share the news of her graduation from this prestigious certification program."
