Recently, I read a great article from the Harvard Business Review about the significance of aligning an organization's purpose with individual employee goals, aka "purpose congruence." I wholeheartedly resonate with the authors' viewpoint. From my own experience, companies that nurture a common purpose and mission tend to be not only more efficient but also more inspiring and fun to be part of. Now, the question is, how do we achieve purpose congruence? It all boils down to engagement. Having open and transparent conversations with employees, colleagues, customers, and peers is key. As leaders, we should be used to explaining the 'why' while having a dialog about the 'how'. Moreover, let's not underestimate the power of 'purpose reminders.' Regular and spontaneous meetings and interactions, whether one-on-ones, group gatherings, skip-level discussions, or unplanned conversations, act as constant reinforcements of our shared purpose. Purpose congruence isn't just fancy jargon; it's a game-changer for the success of any organization. So, let's kickstart the conversation and transform our workplaces into purpose-driven hubs! 🧔🏻Thank you for reading.
