Team Spears was proud to lead the overall planning, outreach, media strategy and execution for yesterday's XOCOM Signing Ceremony, which included a gathering of prominent local and national leaders, physicians, medical professionals, and community advocates to mark the historic occasion. XOCOM will be the first HBCU medical school located in the Gulf South and will be housed within Benson Tower, in the heart of the BioDistrict. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Money Smart Block Party on behalf of our client, Credit Human! Spears Group led all planning for the free community event, including media pitching, production, outreach, and execution alongside Credit Human and partners at Baldwin & Co. The event featured free financial resources, food, raffles, and live performances by the Brass-A-Holics, Raj Smoove, and Artist Patrick Henry, in addition to an amazing panel discussion moderated by TV anchor Gina Swanson with best-selling author/financial expert Jamila Souffrant and Founder of JECohen, Jarrett E. Cohen. More than 500 FREE copies of Jamila's book Finding Financial Freedom were provided to attendees and Credit Human signed up dozens of new members/accounts on-site. Partnered with CounterTake to showcase the impact liquified natural gas terminals have on the kids in the surrounding communities, and I think it really drives home that we're sacrificing the next generation to save a buck today.
