Southside Bank wrapped up its 2024 Commercial Credit Internship Program last week. This summer, four Credit Interns from four different universities joined the program to supplement their studies in an actual banking environment. Through this experience, the students heard from Southside executives and department leaders from across the Bank, observed executive meetings, assisted with underwriting tasks, completed a mock credit approval memo, and presented their report to Southside executives and team members from the Credit department. This was the 9th year Southside has offered this program. This year’s program included Bowman Grace, a finance major at The University of Texas at Dallas; Carson Wick, a finance major at Texas Tech University; Joel Leach, an MBA student at Texas Christian University; and Sydnee Baldree, an accounting major at Texas A&M University. We are thankful for the contributions these students made to Southside this summer and for everyone who took time to invest in the internship program. Member FDIC

Southside Bank North Texas team members volunteered at Mission Arlington last week. They helped sort school supplies and prepare packages that will be distributed to kids in the community for the new school year. Congratulations to Lee Gibson on his remarkable 40 years of dedicated service to Southside Bank. Lee joined Southside Bank on July 6, 1984, as an AVP and Controller, later becoming Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2002. In 2016, Lee became President/CFO and has served as Chief Executive Officer of Southside Bancshares, Inc. and Southside Bank since 2017. "Under his guidance, Southside has achieved unparalleled success, navigating through a variety of economic challenges with resilience and fortitude," says Chairman of the Board, Bob Garrett. "Lee’s dedication and commitment to our core values has not only shaped the company’s culture, but has also earned the trust and respect of our clients and stakeholders." We are deeply grateful for Lee's ongoing service and dedication to Southside.

Last week, three Southside Bank team members from our Bullard in-store branch prepared food box donations for families in East Texas. They unloaded a truck and sorted items into boxes that were given out later that day. Many working families in our area are struggling to put food on the table. St. Paul Children's Services in Tyler helps meet the needs of these families through healthy food given out at their pantry every Thursday. Member FDIC
