Recently, homeowners, friends, and families at Westerly, our master-planned community in Erie, Colorado, enjoyed some fun in the Colorado sun at the neighborhood's Summer Kickoff Concert. This event is a wonderful demonstration of our commitment to creating extraordinary communities as we seek to create opportunities for homeowners and residents to befriend neighbors and form meaningful connections. This past weekend, Westhaven our award-winning master-planned community in Franklin, Tennessee, opened the first model homes for its new 55+ active adult section. Built by SLC Homes and designed by our in-house architecture experts, these for-sale homes feature primary living spaces on the main floor along with bonus spaces for visiting friends and families. These model residences will be open by appointment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. We want to congratulate Anna Edmunds, Senior Architectural Administrator on our Single-Family Architecture team, who celebrates 5 years with Southern Land Company this month. During her time with SLC, Anna has steadily increased her mastery of traditional architectural styles and the processes required to design and document them. We are appreciative to have her keen eye reviewing and coordinating all exterior materials and selections for new homes in Westhaven in Franklin, Tennessee, and Westerly in Erie, Colorado. We look forward to seeing her continue to grow and share her talents and experience with others.

Rising 27 stories, Josephine, our newest Center City, Philadelphia luxury mixed-use community opening later this year, will bring 254 new residences to the city's most desirable area. It will also bring 17,000 square feet of space for a new restaurant or best-in-class health and wellness facility. The construction of Westerly Waypoint, the premier amenity center for our master-planned community in Erie, Colorado, is making great progress! When finished, this wellness-focused facility will be outfitted with a resort-style pool, hot tubs, fire pits, fitness studio, remote workspaces, and community rooms. We want to congratulate Jose Lopez with our horticulture team at Westhaven in Franklin, Tennessee, who celebrated 5 years with Southern Land Company this month. Jose is a consistently dedicated employee who is ready for any task handed to him. As he has been a fast learner, it was an easy decision to move him to the install team. We are grateful to Jose for being diligent in helping our install crews keep up with our growing demand.

Our new Texas mixed-use community, Deco in downtown Fort Worth, showcases its namesake style throughout the 27-story building. Residents, visitors, and passerby will notice a unique installation stationed above the main entrance that adds an extra element of artistic beauty to the building’s façade. Here is what the designer of the artwork notes about the stainless-steel piece:   “This work is referred to as ‘Elevation.’ The relief (in art, a work in which the figures project from a supporting background, usually a plane surface) was inspired by Art Deco art and construction in general as a celebration of the architectural roots of some of Fort Worth’s iconic buildings. From there, it was developed as an expression of rising up and becoming something greater, hence ‘Elevation.’ It was inspired by the reimagining of the Art Deco style in the execution of 969 by the act of constructing the building itself, by the creation of the spectacular elevated amenity space, and by the hopes that future residents will be somewhat elevated by the experience of living in what we built.” – Steve McGann, senior designer with GDA Architects   We are proud to partner with teams like GDA Architects and Zahner, the installation’s fabricator, that help us create truly unique destinations that reflect and celebrate key aspects of the greater community.
