The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) and Hopkinsville Community College invite the public to attend the July 15th Hoptown Hoppers game (at Hopkinsville High School). First pitch is 6:30pm! At the game, special recognition will be given to the 2024-2025 Hopkinsville Community College HOPFAME program participants and the fifteen participating industries. This year’s HOPFAME class features twenty regional residents pursuing education and certification in advanced manufacturing and industrial maintenance. Graduates of the HOPFAME program enjoy a wide range of opportunities in the three-county region. “With over seventy-five regional manufacturers and industries, there’s a constant demand for dependable, hardworking, and skilled employees. HOPFAME graduates enjoy a strong reputation and opportunities to earn upwards of $80,000 per year within two years of employment.”, stated Tony Prim, Associate Director of Business Retention and Expansion at the SWK EDC. Hopkinsville Community College’s reputation for delivering excellence in customized training and education is showcased through the various courses and learning experiences afforded through the HOPFAME program. The program’s successful job placement rate of 85% is a testament to the training curriculum and talented workforce of the southwestern Kentucky region. “We are confident in our region’s ability to meet any emerging workforce challenges because of our strong partnership with Hopkinsville Community College and other important workforce and education partners.” Carter Hendricks, Executive Director, SWK EDC. The South Western Kentucky region continues to announce and implement workforce solutions such as HOPFAME, SWK IGNITE, and Fort Campbell TAP to ensure the region’s young, diverse and growing workforce remains capable of meeting the current and future demands of business and industry.
