About us
The SC VBOC helps Veterans, transitioning Veterans, National Guard and their spouses learn about and start their own business. Partnered with the Small Business Administration (SBA), we do this initially through the Boots 2 Business course and one-on-one business counseling through our staff. We also offer multiple follow on courses that provide more in-depth education on financing, contracting, incorporating, etc. The SC VBOC's headquarters is at the Citadel's Baker School of Business in Charleston, but we service veterans throughout South Carolina.

Creator of Impact Economics. Modern business leaders are the most important people in the sustainable future room.
Just had a 3-year anniversary of teaching Impact Entrepreneurship at our local prison. In September I will celebrate 8-years of teaching free Impact Entrepreneurship evening classes for people residing in unserved communities, and 11-years of teaching it at the College of Charleston. Next month we start our second free evening class for our amazing veterans at the Citadel. The one thing I have learned is that the people facing the majority of the socioeconomic and environmental problems have their own solutions that work. Rather than spending more and more money on self referential, echo chamber events, and worthless studies, we should simply unlock the choke points that are currently preventing underserved people from receiving the capitalS they need to bring their innovations to life, and to scale them. This is an extremely unpopular stance because it pulls back the curtain on how certain groups literally pimp people’s poverty, or are content with providing palliative care as opposed to creating cures. I will continue to point out these choke points. Systemic change, by inference, means changing the way change has approached.

Today marks the 74th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. On June 25, 1950, after years of clashes along the border, the North Korean People's Army invaded South Korea and, concerned that the Soviet Union and China might have encouraged this invasion, President Harry S. Turman committed United States air, ground, and naval forces to the combined United Nations forces assisting the Republic of Korea in its defense. More than 140 Medals of Honor would be awarded to service members who fought in this conflict. To learn their stories, visit: https://lnkd.in/eJHwYp-x
