I'm a firm believer that we need to maintain the doctor patient relationship at all costs and do things to strengthen it rather than weaken it. I'm a big believer that we should work hand-in-hand with the practices. Secondly, we take full risk and share in the savings with the medical practice. We are diffrent from a lot of companies out there that are billing as providers and not taking full risk like we are. That's why these studies that we presented at DDW are so critical because they reflect 2-3 years of work. It's an enormous task to get an attributed population of patients, to engage a medical group, to get a health plan to agree to a value-based program, and then to go out there and ensure that model generates the savings you intended to. "Our savings was driven by declines in Emergency Department visits, inpatient stays, and abdominal surgeries. That's really key - the patients didn't need as many surgeries. When we look at biologic use, we have fewer patients on high dose biologics. We are getting those patients earlier and we may actually be altering the course of the biology of the disease by treating the patients earlier in their declines than would occur decline otherwise." - Dr. Lawrence Kosinski
