What do you call a robot that requires 0 human interaction? Useless. This is clear if you take a step back and realize that all value from automation is provided through interaction with humans. Robots have no intrinsic value. What does this mean for the job market? It means we will always need real human beings at the boundary of automation. Robots are fundamentally changing the role of these people. This isn't all that different from the rapid changes during the industrial revolution; some skills will become less competitive and others will become extremely competitive. We need to help people adapt to these changes. There's a difference between trying to slow down innovation and moderating it's negative impacts. It's an important distinction.

Too true. Graphs are hard in most languages. We wrote our own library for C++; it was a bit of a pain to implement and had many compromises. Definitely not complete enough to be a standard library, but good enough for what we need.

https://lnkd.in/g3bBaNGG We wrote an article with some good reasons to buy a camera calibration solution rather than developing one in house. We'd of course love to sell you one, but this is an important point for technology development in general: focus on *your* product. #robotics #automation #computervision
