Is job satisfaction important? Seems like a pretty simple answer, right? 🤔 I posted the other day about how companies aren't great at posting job ads and I touched briefly on staff turnover levels. I've noticed (and this isn't ground breaking stuff) that the industry typically has very high staff turnover levels - before anyone says anything, of course some of that can be attributed to: - Fixed term contracts being very common - Project based nature of some roles e.g. only joining for a specific phase/stage (R&D function being prime example of this) - Funding/cash flow stability - Mergers/acquisitions But job satisfaction shouldn't be one of those reasons - sadly though, it is 😫 A part of this is on the person applying; do your due diligence and homework. But a big part of this is on the company. A company from the outset should be up front about who they're looking to hire. Make it clear in the job ad what their culture is and what type of environment they foster. Every job ad I write will make this clear but then in every candidate brief I double down on that to make it clear who the company are and what they're looking for. An example being perhaps that company is happy to pivot someone out of the function they're currently in after being there for 5 years to help them grow their career. Most of the time, even if the person matches 80% of the technical skills but doesn't fit what the company are looking for and equally what they're looking for, then it's pointless carrying on. So "is job satisfaction important?" - yes it is because let's reduce the staff turnover where possible and make sure that companies and candidates get what they're looking for from a company as well as just the job - avoiding the included picture for both parties!

🥇 Finding someone with an incredible wealth of commercial experience to run alongside E2E supply chain knowledge is hard to find. This is why it's a Top Talent Tuesday. This chap is hands on, he's the main point of contact within his current company and for a number of years now always has been. He's very operational within product management, but specifically within product launches - currently working on a product launch which will bring in 100's of millions worth of revenue and as he described "it's another one". He has experience within global markets; Eastern Europe (Russian & CEE), CIS including Israel, EMEA and others. Not to mention his personality which is fantastic too - able to develop a relationship very quickly. You might already be looking for someone to drive your commercial growth, and if you are then he could be a great fit. However even if you aren't but are reading this and thinking that he could help drive profitability then reach out and we can discuss further. #supplychain #pharma #bio #lifesciences #productlaunch

Working on holiday as a recruiter🇬🇷 Is it possible ? I've had the privilege of combining work and leisure while in beautiful Greece these last few days. 🌞 Balancing between helping clients and enjoying the picturesque views has been a delight. As a recruiter, I understand the hustle never stops, but this experience has shown me that the blend of productivity and relaxation can truly enhance focus and creativity. The peace of the beach and the rich culture here have breathed new life into my work, making it more enjoyable and engaging. Have you ever worked remotely from abroad? How did it influence your productivity and well-being? Share your experiences in the comments! #WorkFromAnywhere #Productivity #Recruitment

🧬🥼 On the whole companies are pretty terrible at advertising their jobs. The mindset of most is "we have a job, you're looking for a job, you will apply". Some have the mindset of "the science will sell". Because of the tough market we're in right now this is mostly true, and each ad will have heaps of applications - just look through most ads right now - companies hold all the power. This can lead a company to think they're doing the right things - and here lies the problem… 😮💨 Often there's such a focus on the roles and responsibilities of the job, that a job ad can become littered with needless information and too much jargon. People who are searching for a specific role mostly have the technical skills required and whilst it is important to get that aspect across it's also about selling the other areas of the job/your company. Brings me on to the next point - very few companies focus on the inner workings and culture of a company. You should be including everything you can. If you're a small start-up, talk about that, you wont get people applying who're looking to join a large company. If you're a company who doesn't prioritise socialising outside of work then talk about that, you'll avoid the people applying who're wanting that. Not only will it save time sieving through CV's and screening then but it'll save the persons time who's applying too. 🤝 More importantly though, you're likely to get less staff turnover! No company wants someone new into any position every 6-12 months, they want someone who is the exact match on hard skills, soft skills, personality etc - it will avoid you needing to go through the hiring process multiple times and simply wasting time which let's be honest is one of the most important things in a life science company. #pharma #biotech #lifesciences #jobad
