Sheraton Waikiki is the only Hawai‘i hotel named in Men's Health 2024 Travel Awards. Our resort was chosen in the "Active" category, as an ideal basecamp with a myriad of ocean activities nearby, including those offered by Waikiki Beach Services. Mahalo, Men's Health! https://lnkd.in/gnDQZi3s

Congratulations to our Senior Complex Events Manager Yee Vong for completing the Ironman World Championship on Hawaiʻi Island recently. Starting at the beautiful Pauoa Bay, the 1.2-mile swim guides athletes through the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific Ocean as the sun rises over the Island of Hawaiʻi. The 56-mile bike course leads athletes to the magical Kohala Coast on the northern portion of the IRONMAN World Championship bike course. As athletes climb to Hawi, they will experience the rolling hills of Kohala and barren lava fields. Finally, the 13.1 mile picturesque run course takes athletes on the pristine Mauna Lani Golf Course through rolling lava fields and out-and-back on Hoʻohana Road before running through the beautiful seascape finish line. Yee’s clients know that she always goes the distance for them!

Summer is officially here for our school-aged keiki, but on this Flashback Friday, let's take a look at some of the community work our chefs have been doing in the schools this past academic year. Shoutout to our Executive Chef matthew naula who spent time mentoring at Moanalua High School as part of the HAWAII CULINARY EDUCATION FOUNDATION's (HCEF) Chef Mentoring program. Chef Matt helped guide the students in preparation of Moanalua Teishoku. This dish included Seared Sesame Ahi with Wasabi Ginger Butter Sauce, Hawaiian Spirulina Soba in Dashi and Aloun Farms Inc's Vegetable Tempura Fritter. Earlier this semester the students, under the direction of culinary teacher Lars Mitsuda (pictured in 3rd photo with Chef Matt), won the Aloun Farms Culinary Competition. In addition to serving as an HCEF Chef Mentor, Chef Matt has agreed to serve on the McKinley Advisory Business Academy Board. #ChefMentor #FlashbackFriday

Even though January ends next Wednesday, RumFire Waikiki will continue to feature two of its popular new cocktails: Zeros (non-alcoholic) and Layover (low ABV). Introduced late last year during the restaurant's cocktail menu refresh, Zeros is made of orgeat, lemon, and hibiscus ginger beer. And the Layover includes Glogg liqueur, Italian aperitif, pineapple juice, house-made sour mix. Cheers to January and beyond!
