A proud moment for our team as, President Jerry Shapiro, joins the Montgomery County Business Hall of Fame! This recognition is a testament to his exceptional leadership and contributions to the business community.

Last month, Shapiro & Duncan hosted Montgomery County school students through Steel Toe Communications' Summer Rise model program, “CHAT CTE”! Their group helps students gain exposure to the trades and provides them with valuable on-site experiences during the summer. We organized a visit for these students to our very own prefabrication facility, showing them around the different areas of work and highlighting how S&D stays ahead of the constantly evolving industry. They even got the opportunity to interview our trade professionals, learning about their unique experiences in construction and why they chose to stay at S&D. Our design-build work in GWU’s Corcoran School of the Arts & Design basement has been making significant progress as we approach the school year! With upgrades deemed necessary by an engineering study prior to starting the project, our focus has been on upgrading the HVAC systems across the buildings’ various classrooms, office spaces, and workstations. We have installed new duct systems, VAV boxes, and advanced air filtration systems to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for students and staff. Our team at Shapiro & Duncan have done a tremendous job enhancing this area of the building and look forward to welcoming its occupants in the fall. #ourpeopleperform #designbuild #engineering #gwu

The Sheldon Shapiro Scholarship Foundation hosted a dinner to recognize the amazing board members, people who helped behind the scenes, graduating winners, and new scholarship winners! $80,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Shapiro & Duncan employee's children and grandchildren in three years. The foundation is a self-sustaining organization to support future professionals with training and educational scholarships as well as supporting local causes near and dear to Sheldon Shapiro's heart. Congratulations to the graduate winners and new scholarship recipients!
