About us

Sexes (ISSN 2411-5118) is an international, scientific, peer-reviewed open access journal publishing original research articles, reviews, case reports, and communications in the area of sexuality. The journal is dedicated to the publication and worldwide dissemination of inter- and multidisciplinary research in the sexual sciences. It is also designed as a scholarly forum for reporting research, promoting the global understanding of various topics related to sexual health and demonstrating the relevance/application/implication of the results of scientific inquiry for issues surrounding sexuality. The scope of the journal is intentionally broad, encompassing the many facets and approaches to the study of sex and sexuality. As an interdisciplinary journal, it encourages authors to seek, develop, integrate, and report ideas that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries, including but not limited to biology, medicine, psychology, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, public health, law, and history. There is no restriction on the length of papers, although the journal values concise and precise messages where possible. We encourage scholars to present their theoretical and/or experimental results in as much detail as necessary to enable assessment of methodology by reviewers and readers alike as well as to allow others to replicate important findings.
