Our very own Melanie Ayles represented Second Nature Brands at the annual Peanut and Tree Nut Processors Association DC Fly-In. The event was held over several days last month and provided the participating companies representatives the opportunity to engage directly with lawmakers and industry regulators and to advocate on behalf of the nut processing industry. Melanie and others received briefings on legislative and regulatory issues and discussed strategies for effective advocacy. The participants then had the opportunity to discuss what they learned during meetings on Capitol Hill and with key agency officials. Along with help from Macomb County and the City of Warren, 13 SNB volunteers gathered last Friday to plant 30 trees in Warren, Michigan. Many of our Michigan based employees live in Warren and the surrounding communities. The trees were planted in an area that lacked tree canopy, near Macomb Community College. With perfect planting weather and a wonderful team, the event went off without a hitch!
