About us
Seattle Rep puts theater at the heart of public life. Founded in 1963 and winner of the 1990 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre, Seattle Rep is currently led by Artistic Director Dámaso Rodríguez and Managing Director Jeffrey Herrmann. Over a season and throughout the year, Seattle Rep collaborates with extraordinary artists to create productions and programs that reflect and elevate the diverse cultures, perspectives, and life experiences of the Pacific Northwest. Seattle Rep’s nationally recognized programs include the New Play Program, Seattle Rep's Public Works, the Next Narrative Monologue Competition, Pay What You Choose, and numerous audience enrichment and engagement opportunities including post-play panels, discussions, and community events.

We are excited to announce a new collaboration with Seattle Children's Theatre for the 2024/25 Season! This summer, we will join forces as part of a new resource-sharing initiative which will see us sharing some administrative services and launching a shared box office in September. Building on months of internal conversation and an extensive feasibility study, this initiative will allow our two theaters to provide enhanced quality customer service while we continue to work together toward a thriving future. Thanks to the Society of Directors and Choreographers Foundation, we are able to offer a Stage Directing Fellowship opportunity for The Skin of Our Teeth directed by Artistic Director Dámaso Rodríguez. This Fellow opportunity is ideal for a director interested in large scale production with a large cast of a classic play and interested in being part of a production that integrates local community members as part of the concept. All are welcome to apply but local directors will be prioritized for this opportunity. Learn more and apply by June 28.
