Seattle Children’s is spotlighting workforce members from our regional clinic locations who bring hope, care, and cures to children and families. Meet Nisreen, a Program Manager II at our OBCC. For many years, Nisreen volunteered as the Seattle City Coordinator for an annual event that connected individuals experiencing homelessness with health services to get them services and items necessary to their health and safety. “That volunteer role planted seeds in my career and academic path that I am grateful to still be watering today,” shared Nisreen. Nisreen helps patients, families, and staff build trust. People become like family to one another which is something that lasts for generations and is incredibly special.

Hope. Care. Cure.
About us
Hope. Care. Cure. These three simple words capture what we are here to do. That’s because at Seattle Children’s, compassionate care, breakthrough research and generous donors come together every day for the children, and the families, who need us. Over a century later, we continue to fight relentlessly to make sure there’s no such thing as “out of options” and to make sure kids who “didn't have a chance” can have the childhoods they deserve. At Seattle Children’s, we’re united by a compelling mission: We provide hope, care and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. #HopeCareCure

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last week on Aug. 2 for our Seattle Children's Minecraft Server Celebration! We are excited to launch this one-of-a-kind opportunity for Seattle Children's patients to explore the hospital through the virtual world of Minecraft. Did you know our Therapeutic Gaming Program is entirely funded by philanthropy? By using video games intentionally, the program helps patients cope with the challenges of hospitalization and build skills that can benefit them long after they leave the hospital. Donate today to make a difference in our patients' lives! https://bit.ly/4cj4qKB...

Melissa Liu, MN, RN, and Ashley Turner, MN, RN, share their journey of discovering weaknesses within the current process, developing an approach for improvement, and implementing the new deliverables.
Seattle Children’s Hospital, like many hospitals across the country, has felt the sting of high nurse turnover throughout the last few years. As the hospital’s nursing professional development (NPD) team investigated the causes behind turnover, they identified a weak point: an inconsistent new nurse check-in process. At the 2024 ANPD Aspire Convention, Seattle Children's NPD practitioners shared their journey of discovering weaknesses within the current process, developing an approach for improvement, and implementing the new deliverables.

In an immersive therapeutic gaming experience only possible at Seattle Children’s, patients now have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the hospital through the virtual world of Minecraft. As the first pediatric hospital to be recreated block by block in the world of Minecraft, the Seattle Children’s Minecraft Server will officially be introduced to patients this week, enabling them to connect and play together in a safe and monitored environment, even if they can’t leave their room. Learn how this project came to be and how you can experience it live during Seattle Children’s Minecraft Server celebration tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. on Seattle Children’s Facebook and YouTube. https://bit.ly/3SxAl2G
