It's time for another photo landfill (because we're not a dump)! The Scott Area Landfill is a synthetically lined Subtitle D landfill that includes leachate collection, recirculation, and methane recovery. This summer we're building a new cell within the larger site. These photos show the installation of a 60 mil HDPE liner over a layer of recompacted clay. This layer (along with other protective layers and systems) helps keep garbage inside the landfill and prevents it from harming the environment around the site.
