Schweid & Sons is a family-owned fourth generation ground beef purveyor, supplying restaurants, grocers and special events across the nation. In the late 1800s, Harry Schweid began selling quality meats to butchers and restaurants in New York City’s Lower East Side. By the 1950s, his son Sam Schweid continued in his father’s footsteps and established a successful meat shop in Harlem. In 1978, Sam’s son David Schweid took his family’s long-withstanding heritage in the meat purveyor industry and founded Schweid & Sons, a company that would focus on one product – ground beef. Today, that same passion, commitment and work ethic is carried on through David and his two sons Jamie and Brad, all with a dedication to producing the best tasting, highest quality burger. Located in Carlstadt, NJ, Schweid & Sons’ mission is to bring “The Very Best Burger” to consumers by offering a range of high quality ground beef blends and products including Certified Angus Beef®, custom blends, USDA Prime®, All Natural, Wagyu, among others.

Our team learned so much while attending the Certified Angus Beef ® training at The Culinary Center! What an amazing opportunity to be able to learn directly from meat scientists and also have fun participating in a cooking challenge. Since 2003, we have put our trust in the Certified Angus Beef® brand’s unmatched quality for our best Burger blends and will continue to deliver the flavorful, juicy Burgers our customers crave.
New team members for our beef processors attended training at The Culinary Center this month. They learned from our meat scientists about #CertifiedAngusBeef quality and our clean ingredient labels for crafting deli meats, marinated meats, meatballs, smoked brisket, shaved steak, frankfurters and more. Highlights included learning about beef’s journey from farm to table, including time on a local family farm. They also participated in a cooking challenge, helping them see how their products ensure restaurateurs serve and grocery stores offer beef meal solutions with incredible flavor and consistency. If it’s not CERTIFIED, it’s not the best.

Our Retail Team was able to host a luncheon for the Kroger Corporate Meat Department back in March and they were able to showcase our new Heritage Blend Burgers which are now in 1,700+ Kroger stores!
