South Carolina is the fastest growing state in the nation, and the viability of our state’s transportation network is essential now and for our future. Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell recently talked with Gavin Jackson with SCETV's This Week in South Carolina about how SCDOT is investing funding from the 2017 Roads Bill to grow and maintain South Carolina’s transportation network. Watch this episode to learn more about how SCDOT is increasing road construction, replacing and rehabilitating aging bridges, maintaining the state’s existing road network, and making South Carolina’s roads safer for all users: https://lnkd.in/eQ8784Gb

Yesterday SCDOT opened the third northbound lane on I-85 from mile marker 80 to mile marker 90. This project is part of the I-85 Widening and Improvement Project. SCDOT appreciates the patience of the traveling public and especially the residents of Cherokee and Spartanburg counties as we work to complete this project. Drivers in this area should use caution as crews work to put final pavement markings in place.

Roundabouts, like traffic signals and stop signs, control the flow of traffic where roads intersect. The roundabout's circular shape is designed to control the direction of traffic, reduce speeds, and help prevent serious crashes.
