SBVC's FTVM department is excited to announce that four student short films have been "selected" by the Student Academy Awards to be considered for a nomination. This prestigious competition, governed by the same body as the Academy Awards, recognized Samantha Morales' "Arrival," Oscar Bermudez's "Afterworld," Daniel Rodriguez's "ERROR," and Miguel Alvarez's "Always Said." The Student Academy Awards is an international student film competition. Each year, college and university film students from all over the world compete for awards and cash grants, with films being judged in the following categories: Animation, Documentary, Live Action Narrative and Alternative/Experimental. Official nominations will be announced in July, with the 51st annual Student Academy Awards being held in Los Angeles in October. Congrats, Wolverines! 🎥💙

The SBVC Farewell Retirement Party today allowed students, staff and faculty to come together to celebrate the extraordinary careers and lasting impact of 26 of our retiring colleagues this year.
