As those of us who buy or bring our lunch to work every day know, lunch costs have risen significantly. Every other Friday, a crew from the Pittsfield Salvation Army provides a meal and drinks to anyone who might be hungry. No questions asked. Lunch at the Library is just one of Salvation Army's programs to combat hunger as part of its mission to meet human needs. We loved being able to reflect on how our overnight camp has changed countless lives over the past century thanks to your support with our special visitors from WCVB Channel 5. From building lifelong friendships to fostering resilience and personal growth, camp is more than just a place—it's a transformative experience. Through outdoor adventures like swimming and ropes courses, music and arts, team-building activities, and our supportive and loving community, Camp Wonderland empowers young people to become confident leaders and compassionate individuals. Building a brighter future for the next generation! Friends of The Salvation Army took time to tour #OurPlace, a daycare center for homeless children in #CambridgeMA. Your support is helping families break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by giving parents new opportunities.

Volunteers, community partners, teachers, advisory board members, and friends of The Salvation Army made #DonutDay sweet for "dozens" of individuals in communities across the state. With a history dating back to The Salvation Army in 1938, #NationalDonutDay is always one of our favorite holidays to celebrate because it puts a focus on what we do best... serving others. The Salvation Army invites you to tour Our Place during their open house event Thursday, June 13, at 5 p.m.   The Salvation Army's Our Place Day Care Center helps families break the cycle of homelessness and attain self-sufficiency by providing a program that meets the educational, emotional and spiritual needs of each family member. While their children are enrolled in Our Place, parents have the opportunity to work, seek permanent housing, attend school, receive counseling, volunteer in the center or attend Parent Workshops.
