Echelon Cleveland, a group of young professionals who support The Salvation Army through community service events, organized a Back-to-School Carnival for the benefit of 140 family members staying in the Army’s emergency family shelter. Each child got to choose a backpack, filled with school supplies, as they entered the room. From there, they moved about to discover their favorite activities. #communityservice #backtoschool #familyfun

Echelon Syracuse recently held its 6th annual family dance at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. This Echelon-run event is a way for families of all ages to enjoy a night of fun together and began as a way to raise money for the purchase of movie tickets for teens as part of The Salvation Army’s Christmas Bureau. At this event, nearly 200 guests joined and enjoyed exclusive, after-hours access to the zoo, music, a magic show, dancing, and games. Thanks to generous sponsors, 12 families from the local emergency family shelter were able to attend and enjoy a special night at the zoo.

Earlier this year, The Salvation Army Echelon Omaha hosted its first ever Basketball Skills Camp at The Salvation Army North Omaha Corps where 20 children participated and learned ball handling, passing and shooting skills. The camp was coached by Echelon Omaha members Callie Kanthack, an attorney with Lamson Dugan and Murray, Ellie Brecht, a former University of Nebraska-Omaha basketball player and current Assistant Director of Development for UNO and Klay Rowe, a 3x3 FIBA Basketball Player. At the conclusion of the event, North Omaha Corps leadership Lts. Marsha Williams-Miller and Johnny Miller, were presented a check by Echelon Omaha members for $948. The donation was made possible by the event’s generous sponsors.

Echelon chapters across the country are partnering with important stakeholders in their community to make a big impact with The Salvation Army ❤️ In Syracuse, NY, Echelon members volunteered to ring bells at Red Kettles scattered around the area leading into JMA Wireless dome before a Syracuse University football game. There were food collection sites in multiple locations collecting canned goods to help neighbors in need. Close to $2,000 in cash was collected, that went directly to The Salvation Army's local food pantry, along with the canned goods, which serves around 1,100 families each month. This event is in partnership with SU as part of a week-long, campus-wide initiative to bring awareness to food insecurity in the community.
