On Tuesday four of us went to Santa Barbara City Hall to advocate for the prevention of Human Trafficking in our city and for a more robust system for caring for survivors. We highlighted the work of Noahs Anchorage Lisa Conn Akoni - working on the front lines of helping children being exploited or at risk of exploitation. We need the whole #santabarbara community on board for this! We are currently dreaming up a Survivor's Network of experts to be available for our vulnerable kids. You can help us by donating and becoming an Alliance partner www.safesbc.org. Join our page SAFE Santa Barbara County. Randy Kohn Amanda Rowan, LCSW Kai Cogswell Ian Noyes Maureen E. From school social worker trainings to the creation of a Care and Coordination Center for vulnerable women, the Task Force is working to address exploitation from all angles. Strategic, coordinated efforts = better outcomes for those at risk of or experiencing trafficking in our community. Thanks to the expert leadership of Dr. Jill Sharkey, the SB County Human Trafficking Task Force developed a 3-year Strategic Plan to address human trafficking countywide. A group of 29 key decision-makers in the Task Force gathered in January 2023 to evaluate the work of the past 10 years – to celebrate past successes and look ahead to future goals. Out of this careful analysis came the priorities SAFE SB County is seeking to fund today! You can read more about our priorities and goals here: www.safesbc.org. Your gift to SAFE SB County directly supports the individuals and agencies working to reach these Strategic Plan goals. Your partnership is key to: -Helping school social workers and counselors in SB County schools learn to identify the risk factors for human trafficking and offer care to the youth they serve -Increasing survivor input and representation across all efforts -And developing a drop-in center for vulnerable women The above isn’t possible without our whole community working together. Help us create a community that’s SAFE for all who live in it! #AntiHumanTrafficking #NoOneBoughtOrSoldSBC

Thank you Lisa Conn Akoni for your partnership with the County's Human Trafficking Task Force and SAFE Santa Barbara County to bring together the entire community to fight sexual exploitation in our county. Lisa has over 15 years of working directly with youth who have been trafficked in our county, and still works directly with youth and the team at CIYMCA Noah's Anchorage, a drop-in center and shelter for at-risk youth in Santa Barbara. We are now able to raise funds and build capacity for our partners countywide to expand their work. As an example, we are about to launch a Care & Coordination drop-in center in North County to bring together dozens of partners to serve women experiencing homelessness and build an empowerment model to end human trafficking in Lompoc. This is only possible through the generous gifts of #santabarbaracounty community members who want to see #nooneboughtorsoldsbc. If you have any questions - please reach out info@safesbc.org. Thank you!

Our organization Kingdom Causes Inc is serving as backbone support both for our County's Human Trafficking Task Force and SAFE Santa Barbara County – which is the movement-minded alliance of donors, community members, and service provider partners in Santa Barbara County. We are actively increasing prevention training, early intervention strategies, and more care and coordination for our local girls and boys, survivors of #humantrafficking in #santabarbaracounty. Kielle Lindsey serves on our SAFE SBC Executive Committee and has served on our Human Trafficking Task Force since its inception in 2013. We are so excited to have her on our team. We are about to launch several new initiatives locally in August of this year and we could use your financial support. We have a $33,000 matching gift on the table for the next three years, and we have thus far raised $11,000 to match this amount. Can you help us reach the remaining $22,000 match for three years? You can donate here - https://lnkd.in/gqNrETgM. If you have any questions, please reach out with an email to info@safesbc.org. With your support we can build a #nooneboughtorsoldsbc together!

We have a SAFE Santa Barbara page now - join our efforts to end human trafficking in #santabarbaracounty. No One Bought or Sold!
Our Human Trafficking Task Force has existed since 2013 under the leadership of Megan Rheinschild and the District Attorney's Office. We have now built a movement minded team of organizations and individuals who want to see #nooneboughtorsoldsbc in our county. Much of our focus now is on prevention and early intervention so we can put an end to local sexual exploitation! We want you on our team and you can become an Alliance Partner with SAFE Santa Barbara County today www.safesbc.org. We are passionate about the work and if you contact us we will engage you in our efforts today. I learned today that one of our partners, between the months of January and June thus far, filed 14 Suspected Child Abuse Reports that we confirmed CSEC (commercial sexual exploitation of children). So all hands on deck, all of us together, let's put an end to modern day slavery. jeff.shaffer@kingdomcauses.org #santabarbaracounty #humantrafficking Kayla Petersen Bella Nasman Lisa Conn Akoni Tiffany Carty Amanda Rowan, LCSW Brandy Mussman
