Aligned with our work to foster positive mental health outcomes for local youth, we funded the American River College’s Institute for California Native Student Success to hire youth staff members. Those staff members helped plan and put on the American Indian Summer Institute (AISI), which engaged many more young people in our region in identity- and community-building via rich, culturally relevant activities! 😊

Our Chief Impact & Strategy Officer Niva Flor recently attended the Northern California Grantmakers annual conference in Oakland! This event focused on philanthropy and our role in supporting and creating a multi-racial democracy. “Philanthropy has been a critical lifeline for nonprofits,” Niva shared, “Particularly because those dollars can be unrestricted, which gives nonprofits the ability to address the needs in the community, which often change.”
