Bell Company is a family-owned company that has been in business since 1933, and whose core business is providing terminal handling via barge/rail/truck, storage, processing, packaging, and record keeping services for the metals, and oil & gas industries. S. H. Bell Company also provides London Metal Exchange (LME) warehousing in both Chicago and Baltimore locations. In 2013, S. H. Bell Company announced the full operation of its newly formed subsidiaries - DWC Logistics, LLC and DWC Drayage, LLC - providing trucking, drayage, and logistics services. Our global customer base is comprised of producers, traders, and consumers of metals, minerals, proppants, ferro-alloys, and semi-finished industrial materials. S.H. We recently visited Associated Terminals, located along the Mississippi River in Louisiana, where we got an up-close and personal view of their stevedoring and fleeting operations. The team was able to observe a vessel being discharged midstream and a ship discharging landside. Coincidentally, a number of the barges loaded were ultimately destined for S.H. Bell Company’s facilities in East Liverpool, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois. We enjoyed team-building activities and collaborative meetings held at their headquarters. Monday marked a triumphant step in freeing the container ship Dali from underneath the wreckage of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. According to keybridgeresponse2024.com, this has enabled an additional channel to open, allowing more vessels to travel. This additional channel will be open daily 8pm to 6am. This channel has a depth of 48 feet, a 350-foot horizontal clearance, and a vertical clearance of 214 feet. We recently had the pleasure of attending the 120th Traffic Club of Pittsburgh Annual Dinner where Key Note Speaker Charlie Batch, MSOL Batch shared his personal story and “Expect Your Best” message of inspiration and motivation. Best of the Batch Foundation was founded in 1999 by Charlie Batch, former Steelers Quarterback, to give back to his hometown of Homestead, PA.
