Software Engineering Leader at Adobe Experience Platform | ex-Yelp, eBay, IBM, and Yahoo

Hi LinkedIn! I'm seeking a Data Science leader to join our Customer Engineering team within the Adobe Digital Experience (DX) Cloud Engineering organization. The job posting below has more details. Please apply directly or reach out to Madison Telfer (Griffin)! We aim to infuse more customer self-serve intelligence into our products through reporting, analytics, and even AI assistance. This senior leader would be the founding member of a Customer Data Science (CDS) team to take on these challenges – requiring this leader to develop and execute a team charter and roadmap, resulting in new customer and operational KPI reporting, predictive intelligence (e.g., at-risk customers, customer maturity, etc.), and in-product customer usage and value frameworks in collaboration with other data science related teams, such as our ML ops and decision science platform teams. https://lnkd.in/gz_5Qspm

In 1974, through the Catholic Church in Lahaina, I acquired two cherished “aunts.” Pua and Emma. Pua was a master Uke player and singer of chants and Emma ran the hula school. They embraced my father, and as a result, I have a deep love of core Hawaiian values. They used to say to me I was Hawaiian at Heart. I learned much on how to live a righteous life. The woman in this photo is my new Auntie Emma, who knew both Pua and Emma. She is my last living link. I see her when I can, as she is 84 years young. We got together today to talk story. 11 of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren lost their homes in The Fire. We had a great cry together, but she was happy I sought her out. She has the most amazing Hawaiian apparel store and I was her first customer. She housed 30 families in her small parking lot post fire. Served 3 meals a day there for 5 weeks. Maui Strong!!!!

Today I arrived in Lahaina and Kaanapali. I processed a lot of emotions, but the biggest one is how the common citizens have rallied. I saw numerous food and water distribution centers. Cell and internet hot spots. Children are being absorbed into new schools. What is lacking now is tourists to return. I was the only one at a local rental car place. If you come back, seek out local run businesses. Restaurants are now opening here on the West Side. Given that Maui has experienced an equal to 9/11, there is a general vibe of attempting normalcy. But everyone is flying the State flag and there are many hand painted signs saying Maui Strong!!!!!

This month marks a dubious anniversary of surviving a horrific T bone accident last year. I was running shotgun and took the full hit from the oncoming truck. For a split second, I thought it was over. I miraculously walked away from this unharmed. But it taught me an important lesson: I did not think of anything professional or career in the coming days. Yes, I still work, but I have sought out more balance and have returned to things that got lost in the shuffle of work, like time in nature and doing visual arts, painting and art, and community service. It is the things we value that make us rich. Take time to enjoy this breathe called Life.
