The Ryan recruiting team is comprised of fantastic individuals globally bringing top talent to the Firm. We were thrilled to be able to bring so many of our team members together for our annual intern retreat in Dallas at our global headquarters. Duarte, one of our wonderful recruiters, joined us all the way from Portugal for his first time in the United States! We’re thrilled that Duarte got the chance to go above and beyond during his time here to be a warm welcoming face to the new intern class, as well as getting to explore life in Dallas.  Interested in a position at Ryan? I'm in the business of matching talent with opportunity. 💡

I survived a Tornado, Ate Breakfast Tacos, and finally Met colleagues I've Known for 730+ Days through Zoom calls. 🌪️ 🌮 I just got back from my trip to the US, and wow, what an experience! After +730 days of Zoom Calls with my colleagues, I finally met them in person. And, to make my arrival unforgettable, Dallas threw a tornado my way on my first day. 😅 As a Portuguese native, my trip to the US was full of surprises. I discovered breakfast tacos are a thing 🌮 (and they're amazing)! I had them with the team and loved them. We toured The Star in Frisco (Dallas Cowboys HQ) and bonded over food and drinks. On the flip side, I drank the most watered-down coffee I've ever tried – seriously, I needed about five cups just to stay awake! ☕😴 I even picked up new words like “toodaloo” or “toodle-oo” that I'm now throwing around at home – and no one has a clue what I'm saying (thank you, Madison Sampson). On top of all the work excitement, I had the chance to explore Dallas as a tourist. I visited the iconic Giant Eyeball – because who wouldn't want to see a giant eyeball, right? I’m a simple man of simple tastes 😅 Connecting with the team in person was also incredible, we had numerous opportunities for connecting, volunteering, and team building. One of the best moments was our trivia challenge where we earned parts to assemble bicycles🚲 for charity. Imagine the chaos and laughter as we tried to answer questions and put together bikes – teamwork at its finest! A major highlight was helping organize our 2024 summer internship program at Ryan. We welcomed over 120 interns across the US, and it was fantastic to be a part of this event. I also had the privilege of speaking at a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion panel with Alycia Truong and Jujuan Lewis. It was inspiring to discuss these crucial topics and see firsthand how Ryan LLC is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. Thank you Deb Boopsingh and Erica Clausen for the opportunity to participate in both the Internship Program and the DEI Panel. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine having such amazing adventures at work, and Ryan has made it all possible for me. Here’s to more adventures, new experiences, and continuing to grow with my Ryan team! #LifeAtRyan

Ryan teamed up with Farrah Mitra and Radical Candor® to deepen our commitment to effective feedback and growth. We do not shy away from giving and receiving feedback but want to make sure we do it in a way that’s productive, effective, and kind. The Radical Candor session really aligned with our culture and emphasized the importance of constructive communication! Did any team members catch it live? What was your biggest takeaway? #LifeAtRyan

🌺 👏 I am thrilled to share the incredible success of our recent event at Ryan in our office in Braga, inspired by the visionary idea of Suzanne den Breems. This initiative truly highlighted the power of "Women Empowering Women" and the remarkable outcomes that can be achieved when we come together with purpose and passion. I want to thank the talented women who joined me at the event as speakers and active participants: Liliana Rodrigues Mariana Príncipe Cristela Mota Francisca Ferreira Ana Luisa Macedo Mara Silva Filipa Machado Filipa Valente Agnieszka Miedzik Rita Guimarães Sara Gomes Marinha Abreu Adriana Santos Ivone Moreira da Costa Gabriela Gonçalves Cátia Fernandes. Your overwhelming positive reactions and enthusiasm were so wonderful to see! What started as a spontaneous idea transformed into a special event—hopefully, the first of many. Our topics were diverse and impactful, ranging from leadership journeys, obstacles, and opportunities, to work-life balance and tips on separating personal and work life, and the importance of continuous learning and development. This event aimed to create a safe space for sharing stories, discussing past and current insecurities and strategies to overcome them, and encouraging and supporting one another. This event was uplifting and inspirational, and I hope we can continue to create these opportunities, share our stories, and empower one another, always! #Ryan #WomenEmpoweringWomen #Leadership #Inspiration #Teamwork #WomenInBusiness #RyanEmpowers #SupportAndGrowth

"Without action on the Apportionment Factor Fix....there would be an estimated potential negative revenue impact of up to $1.3 billion over multiple years [for taxpayers with pending refund claims]....and an estimated $200 million....prospectively," according to the CA State Senate Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review. This not only is a tax increase, but a retroactive tax increase. Let Ryan help!

Multinational businesses—be on alert! New tax laws on their way to the governor’s desk in California may INCREASE your taxes even if you are not based in California. Here’s how: Companies that receive dividends from their foreign subsidiaries recently achieved a win from the California Office of Tax Appeals (OTA) that enabled them to lower their tax liability. This new legislation reverses the decision retroactively and prospectively, allowing the California Franchise Tax Board to deny any pending refund claims that relied on the decision. Bottom line: Not only will the governor reverse the taxpayer-friendly OTA decision, but the new legislation also limits the use of tax credits and suspends the use of net operating losses, starting with the 2024 taxable year, and eliminates the sales and use tax bad debt deduction for many taxpayers, starting in 2025. How will your business be impacted by these changes? Ryan’s team of experts are here to assess how the changes impact your business and guide you accordingly. Stay tuned as we continue to post important updates on tax law changes in California.

My first Bring Your Kids to Work event at Ryan was an incredible experience! A big thank you to Kristi Bryant, Terri Goacher, and all the volunteers who made this event such a great success. 🎉 The day started with a coffee stop at Starbucks for my favorite drink (iced triple grande upside-down caramel macchiato... hint hint) and then we got to work! ☕️ Seeing our team members with their kids offered a wonderful opportunity to connect on a personal level. It warmed my heart to receive a few Teams messages saying they enjoyed seeing me in "dad mode." 😊 My kids got a firsthand look at what I do, joining me in meetings, a bridge call, and even handling a couple of tickets. There were plenty of hands-on activities to keep them engaged! I'm already looking forward to next year's event and hope it will be on a Wednesday so my twins can sit in on CAB with an RFC that requires them to speak on their change! #LifeAtRyan #GenerosityMatters #WiredToWin #BringYourKidsToWorkDay
