Southern CaseArts is excited to welcome its new Senior Vice President and General Manager, Andres Lacassie; a seasoned professional who has been making waves in the industry for over 25 years. Although he joined Southern CaseArts in early May, his vast experience and strategic vision have quickly made him an integral part of the team. After taking a short break from the industry, his journey back to food retail was driven by a compelling blend of expertise and passion. "There are three reasons why I came to SCA," he explains. "First, to rejoin an industry I love; second, to oversee a comprehensive array of functions from strategy to operations; and third, because I see a real opportunity here to accelerate our profitable growth and that is something I definitely want to be a part of." In his role, he goes beyond simply looking at the numbers. His approach to leadership involves developing people, improving processes, and enhancing efficiency. "Performance means making us easier to do business with and removing any roadblocks so the whole organization can perform better," he states. Despite being new to Southern CaseArts, he brings a wealth of global experience from previous leadership roles with major industry players. His extensive background provides Andres the ability to guide SCA towards a bright and prosperous future. Even in his brief time with the company, he has been impressed by his team's commitment and openness to new perspectives. He is most excited about driving change that improves performance, and the SCA team has been exceptionally receptive to new ideas. Looking ahead, Andres is optimistic about the company's growth potential. "The focus areas of grocery, convenience stores, and foodservice are just the beginning," he reveals. His plan includes driving down costs and lead times, expanding relationships with key decision-makers, and continuing innovation to ensure the products offer significant value and ROI. 🎇June Employee Spotlight - Horace Jones🎇 ROYSTON LLC Since joining Royston LLC in 2012, Horace Jones has been an integral part of the assembly team, bringing dedication and a remarkable enthusiasm to his role as an Assembler. Horace's journey with the company began when he discovered the type of work Royston was doing and knew right away that he wanted to be part of it. As an Assembler, Horace plays a crucial role in transforming simple parts into complex components. His day-to-day responsibilities include building, wiring, inspecting, and securing units to ensure they are ready for shipment to customers. Despite the challenges that come with managing multiple tasks, Horace's passion for his work shines through. "I absolutely love it," he says, "I really enjoy putting different units together." What makes Horace's contribution unique is not just his skill but his attitude. "While the position is not new to me, I enjoy the different things we get to do from day to day," he reflects. It's this adaptability and eagerness to embrace each day's challenges that make him a valued member of the Royston team. Todd Kirby, Horace’s supervisor, also praises his proactive nature, "Horace is a go-getter! He doesn’t have to be told what to do; he can see things that need to be done and he does them. He is always busy." This initiative is a bonus for the workflow and morale at Royston, demonstrating Horace's indispensable role. Time for some more Employee Appreciation. This month, out of Southern CaseArts! At Southern CaseArts, Emmett Black is an example of dedication and reliability. As a Receiving Clerk, Emmett has been an integral part of the team for nearly nine years, bringing a wealth of experience and a can-do attitude to his role. His journey with Southern CaseArts began back in 2015 when Emmett embraced the chance to join our team as a "Part Picker," setting the stage for a fulfilling career ahead. In his current role as a Receiving Clerk, Emmett's responsibilities are as varied as they are essential. From printing and responding to emails to overseeing pick tickets for our part pickers and verifying inventory counts. Emmett is a key player in our receiving department who is always ready to lend a hand wherever needed exemplifying the spirit of teamwork and collaboration that defines our company culture. Emmett's tenure at Southern CaseArts has seen him take on various leadership roles, including leading the 2nd Shift Receiving Team and overseeing the 3rd Shift Inventory Team. Additionally, he has played a role in supervising our Saturday Support Crews, ensuring smooth operations even on weekends. When asked about his most memorable moment at Southern CaseArts, Emmett recalls a lighthearted incident during an annual Christmas gathering. "I would have to say when one of my co-workers in the Refrigeration department lost a bet around the Iron Bowl," he chuckles. "Having lost, he had to get up in front of the entire company and sing us all a song." What Emmett values most about his job is the camaraderie and sense of belonging he shares with his teammates. "I enjoy working with my team every day," he reflects. "Some of us have been together for nearly a decade, and that sense of camaraderie makes all the difference." As for the company itself, Emmett appreciates the positive changes in the company culture and direction. "They've made it about us, the employees, and ensured that the company is heading in the right direction." Looking to the future, Emmett harbors ambitious hopes for Southern CaseArts. "I would love to see us become one of the best in our industry," he says. As an IT Technician, Kevin Villa brings a wealth of enthusiasm, expertise, and a passion for problem-solving to his role.   With a tenure of just about six months, Kevin's journey at Royston may be relatively short, but the impact he has made in this time is nothing short of notable. Embracing the company culture with open arms, he has swiftly familiarized himself with our IT processes and seamlessly integrated into the team. Kevin's dedication and proactive approach have already left an indelible mark.    As an IT Technician, Kevin's responsibilities encompass providing technical support to users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of the IT infrastructure. His primary focus is on swiftly addressing technical challenges to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations for users and infrastructure alike. After having taken a year off to be a stay-at-home dad, Kevin's return to the IT field was met with excitement and anticipation. The opportunity to once again engage directly with users and provide hands-on support resonated deeply with him, fueling his enthusiasm for his new role at Royston. He finds immense fulfillment in assisting end users with their technical needs, fueled by their warm reception and appreciation.
