WIRE FRAUD JUDGMENT | The Realtor Was Held Liable! “The moral of the story appears to be that, no matter your role in the real estate transaction, you have a duty to take reasonable steps against wire fraud.” The Realtor was hacked… and a Kansas City Federal Court subsequently ruled that she and her Brokerage company were liable for damages in the amount of $167,129.27. Bain vs. Platinum Realty, LLC et al, Case No. 16-CV-02326-JWL, District Court, D., Kansas, 2018. Interestingly, the Realtor and her company didn’t even represent the Buyer! So, What Happened?
