About us

Roll & Hill is a design-minded American furniture and lighting company based in New York. We collaborate with some of the most exciting independent designers working today to create our exceptional collection. Jason Miller founded Roll & Hill in 2010 with a primary mission to establish a homegrown, American design aesthetic and offer independent designers the state-of-the-art manufacturing services typically associated with larger makers. Roll & Hill is committed to on-demand production, allowing us to customize our pieces to our clients’ needs. At our manufacturing facilities in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we make our furniture and lighting by hand, one piece at a time. Our designs draw from a rich material palette, including brass, bronze, leather, wood, hand-knotted rope, and mouth-blown glass. Our designers often pair historical elements with contemporary forms to create objects that feel familiar, yet totally new.

    We are seeking a President / CEO to help build, expand and bring new ideas to our brand. The individual will have a holistic understanding of the business, accountability for the full breadth of the organization, and possess a high aptitude for sales strategies and tactics and brand building. The successful candidate will understand the complexities of managing an on-demand manufacturing business while identifying new avenues for growth. The President will also foster a healthy and creative culture and maintain the company's commitment to providing high quality products. The President will work in partnership with the founder to establish strategic priorities. Full time position based in NYC, periodic travel to Michigan and other locations will be required. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree required • Full P&L accountability demonstrating high financial acumen and a healthy profitability-oriented mindset • 15 years of senior level experience in sales, brand marketing, GTM strategy, and general business leadership specifically in the home furnishings industry • Ability to roll up sleeves and be hands on with strategy, business development, and execution of most significant growth opportunities • Strong track record of success in sales strategy, brand marketing, and product innovation • Experience with a small to midsize growth company • Strong knowledge of omnichannel sales operations with proven success in e-commerce, DTC, trade, contract sales and wholesale sales. • Proven leadership within a high-performing business and experience scaling a growth-oriented business • Track record in framing a strategy, building consensus within the organization and Board, and driving execution toward that strategy Responsibilities • Partner and collaborate with the Founder, Board and leadership team to align on strategic priorities • Report to the Board of Directors, the President / CEO will be responsible for creating, communicating, and executing sustainable short- and long-term business strategies to drive growth and profitability • Meet financial goals set in partnership with the Founder, Board and leadership team • Provide leadership for the development and execution of a holistic long-term strategy that supports the growth goals in all parts of the company • Continuously evolve the organizational structure to align with strategic priorities while building and mentoring an outstanding leadership team to achieve desired results • Ensure the correct resources and talent are in place to execute on growth initiatives • Review the product development strategy to identify ways to drive sales growth • Define, drive and coordinate sales efforts across trade, contract, wholesale, and e-commerce channels and develop a DTC strategy suitable to today's environment Email cover letter, and resume to jobs@rollandhill.com No phone calls or walk-ins Serious applicants only Base salary $300k - $350k Long-term incentives, options or phantom equity can be discussed
