ICYMI: Fastly now offers free-forever #developer accounts ✨ read all about them: https://lnkd.in/e3gbNzwP We announced them last week, along with a slate of other dev-focused tools and features, in our first-ever keynote event. It was such a treat to cheer on my esteemable colleagues Journie M. Jenn Schiffer Simon Wistow Anil Dash Jesse von Doom and Matthew Tamayo as they announced all our awesome new stuff! You can read about those announcements here: https://lnkd.in/eMySS-P2 And finally, we snuck in a quick preview of news that I'm very excited to officially announce on Monday. In the meantime, check it out and stay tuned.... 👀 https://lnkd.in/eWAVRQKQ

I've been collaborating with the System Initiative team the last couple weeks on an exciting project: managing the Rocky Linux MirrorManager (https://lnkd.in/eYzie848). This service handles hundreds of millions of requests monthly, providing geo-local mirrors to Rocky users worldwide. We'll be managing the entire lifecycle of MirrorManager with SI including compute, load balancing, CDN (Fastly), and integrating with Ansible for configuration management. System Init is a *highly* compelling tool. If you've ever felt like Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, etc., are missing something, check out SI.

Fastly has supported the Rocky Linux project since the beginning. Over the last year they have served up more than 1.5 BILLION monthly requests for us for free, as part of their open source mission. And NOW, Fastly has a free tier! Sign up: https://buff.ly/3z0Ktu6 Wondering what "serving up more than 1.5 billion requests" means? It definitely doesn't mean burgers, but it does mean good things for anyone engaging with Rocky Linux online! Fastly curates a global farm of servers that cache Rocky Linux content, keeping it closer to you wherever in the world you are. When you request to access a page or image, the data is closer to you, so it has less distance to travel before you can access it. Now imagine with us for a moment, a product that not only makes you look like an ever-ready rockstar, but the people creating that product are committed to your mission, and enthusiastic about helping you....that's Fastly. If you like fast loading times, and also value the values behind a company, we recommend you check out Fastly and all the exciting ways they contribute to excellence in the tech world and more. https://buff.ly/3z0Ktu6 https://buff.ly/3z0Ktu6 https://buff.ly/3z0Ktu6 #fastly #freetier #rockylinux
