We continue Winthrop Rockefeller’s collaborative approach to creating transformational change.
About us
Our Mission: We continue Winthrop Rockefeller's collaborative approach to creating transformational change. Our Vision: We envision a future where every person is empowered to bring their unique perspective to bear on the most monumental of challenges and participate in the search for solutions. Our Method: We engage our resources and Winthrop Rockefeller’s values to convene purposeful gatherings on his historic cattle ranch. We do this work by employing the “Rockefeller Ethic” which represents the belief that diversity of opinion, engaging in respectful dialogue, and practicing collaborative problem solving combine to create transformational change. The productive energy of our mountaintop location coupled with the highest levels of hospitality ensure all who come here are able to do their best work. The Rockefeller Ethic: Collaborative Problem Solving + Respectful Dialogue + Diversity of Opinion = Transformational Change

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, even as staff! Executive Chef Austin Bond and his team have been experimenting with new dishes to add to our conference guest menu, including farm-to-table items like honey butter-fried chicken and waffles (with Petit Jean honey) and fresh heirloom tomato salads.

Our next #employeespotlight is Executive Chef Austin Bond, who has been with us for seven months. Austin worked in catering before finding out about the Institute through a job posting forum at his alma mater, Northwest Arkansas Community College's Brightwater Center. He decided to take the leap and join our team, and we are glad he did! When asked how he uses the the Governor’s legacy, he said, “My favorite part of Governor Rockefeller's legacy that I use in my day-to-day life is diversity of opinion. I don't just ask my team about plating, how something tastes, or how it looks on a plate ... I'll ask people from Maintenance, Conference Services, or even our Senior Team to get as many opinions as possible that will help.” Austin is also an avid outdoorsman. Fly fishing is his favorite hobby, and his favorite spot to visit is Roaring River State Park in Missouri.
